A  good news for gurbani keertan lovers. Now you can listen Gurbani live from Sri Harmandar Sahib (Amritsar)  on your Android device with Keertan Radio application. The good feature of this app is that it can be installed as a widget on Android device’s home screen. This will allow you play/pause keertan from your home screen itself.

This is the second application developed by ISharpeners Technologies. The first one was initnem which allows you read daily nitnem on Android. Both applications are free to download and use.

As a user of the app you can share the Gurdwara information with other users (via bluetooth, email, sms, etc) or call the Gurdwara number directly.

Right now, the app only includes Gurdwaras in the US and the deveoper plans to add Gurdwaras from other countries in the future.

The Issue : Violence does not discriminate. Every 9 seconds a woman – regardless of race, class, or academic achievement – is battered in the US. 1 in every 4 women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime and 1.3 million women experience it every year. Most cases go unreported due to fear – fear of being alone, fear of further violence, and/or fear for the children’s safety. The Jakara Movement will create culturally diverse Women’s Centers with domestic violence shelters, open to all women and children. These centers differ due to their special sensitivity for minority, marginalized and rural women. Language or culture should never stand as a barrier between a battered woman and help. The Plan

With hundreds of active volunteers in California, especially on issues connected to diverse immigrant cultures, the Jakara Movement has the innovativeness and expertise to serve families in the community. The $1MM will give the right people the right resources to create the right space.

The Outcome
