Every day tens of thousands of people visit Sri Harmandir Sahib, the Golden Temple in Amritsar, India. Each and every visitor is welcome to dine in the guru’s free kitchen.

To spread Sikhi & Peace 23 Year old Sikh visits 1,661 Gurdwaras

He mastered the art of embroidery and was handling father’s textile business, until one day during his visit to Hemkunth Sahib, the pilgrim centre of Sikh, idea of a holy walk dawned on Sukhdeep Singh. The 23-year-old was not taken seriously by his family members when he told them about his plan to go on a visit to as many Gurudwaras as possible in India on foot.

After a few sleepless nights and arguments with family members, Singh set out on his holy walk. Taking the blessings of the Guru Granth Sahib at the Golden Temple, on November 30, 2006 he has been visiting all prominent and not-so-prominent Gurudwaras on foot. Singh was in the city recently on a visit to Nanak Sahib Gurudwara.
