PIL for fast monitoring of 1984 sikh killings filed in Delhi High Court

PIL filed on the state sponsored mass murder of sikhs in 1984.

Jalandhar: A PIL has been filed in the Delhi High Court on 23rd Jan, 2010 to seek constitution of a monitoring committee to track the 1984 anti-Sikh riot cases, Senior Advocate in Supreme Court H S Phoolka said here.

“A majority of families are waiting for justice for more than 25 years. Special public prosecutors should be appointed into such cases to expedite delivery of justice,” Phoolka told reporters.

He alleged the CBI was not serious in following cases related to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Phoolka said the the PIL is listed for Wednesday.
