17 year old young Under 19 cricket player selected for Indian Premier League(IPL-3)

Indian Premier League (IPL) is the most sought after 20-20(Twenty-Twenty) cricket tournament played by cricketers round the world. It is being organized by BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India). Today the auction of players for IPL season 3 took place and it had something special for sikhs to cheer about.

17 year old sikh cricketer Harmeet Singh has been selected for the team Deccan Chargers. The young left arm spinner Harmeet is currently playing for Under 19 Indian Cricket team idolises another famous cricket S.Bishan Singh Bedi. He is one the three players drafted to play IPL-3 and all of them will get Rs.8 lac each.

Harmeet’s profile on Cricinfo:

A talented left-arm spinner from Mumbai, Harmeet Singh was one of the few members of the Under-19 squad for the 2010 World Cup in New Zealand with first-class experience. He impressed with 12 wickets in his first two games for Mumbai, including a match-winning 7 for 127 in his debut against Himachal Pradesh. In fact, Harmeet was a keen footballer, before he was encouraged by the former Mumbai left-arm spinner Sanjay Patil to take up cricket.

Harmeet Singh, Harbhajan Singh and some Other sikhs are also playing in IPL 3.
