There are thousands of Ruchika’s in Punjab and India….

Punjab went through the bloodiest phase in the modern times during 1984 – 1995. Over a decade of lawlessness turned a peace loving sikh nation into a hell where innocent sikh youth were killed on a mere basis of doubt of their connection with militant sikhs.

But through this article I would like to highlight the cruelty which so many sikh women of Punjab faced during those killing operations of innocents took place. Many young girls were molested, raped and mercilessly tortured by the police officers under KP Gill.

The India media is doing a good job in exposing the criminal activities of post bearers like Rathore who openly commit suicide and cynically laugh over the sorry state of affairs of law in India and mocking at the world’s largest democracy.

Will the Indian media also take up the mass human rights violations that has taken place with the sikh females of Punjab? Though the ray of hope is low because sikhs constitute only 2% of India and the issues concerning them has a low TRP on Television. But uptil how long this havoc of molestation would continue? Cant women live free in the society?

Ruchika  Girothra’s case is just a n eye opener of how law is being abused in India. Its high time the youth  of India and Indian Media rises up everywhere in India to bring the corrupt officers, politicians and bureaucrats to the book to have a decent society to live in.
