Sikhs return back to India from Pakistan after Gurpurab celebrations

nankana-sahibA group of Sikh pilgrims, who went to Pakistan on October 31 to celebrate the Prakash Gurupurab of first sikh guru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji returned today.

During their stay at Pakistan Sikh devotees paid obeisance at various Sikh shrines in Pakistan located at the different provinces amidst tight security cover, said group leader Jagir Singh.

Singh said that during their stay in Pakistan he along with other Sikhs met Pakistan?s Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani, who assured the delegation of adequate security to Sikhs living in Pakistan.

A group of 1500 Sikh devotees went to Pakistan on October 31 through Samjhauta Express from the international Attari Railway Station to celebrate the Prakash Gurupurab of first sikh guru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Gurdwara Sri Nankana Sahib in Pakistan on November 2.

The jatha was expected to return to India on November 12 but due to security reasons arrived in advance.
