Ensaaf- A nonprofit Sikh organization has launched a BART poster campaign this month to mark the 25th Anniversary of India’s state sponsored worst post independence massacre in the year 1984. Nov 1, every symbolizes the unjust killings of thousands of innocent sikhs in India.
The campaign has been coined by Nirvair Singh, 44, a Cupertino software engineer who was a college student in Punjab at the time of the violence.
It shows a photograph of an elderly crying woman still waiting for justice. There are about 35,000 Sikhs living in the Bay Area and this this campaign aims to uearth the conspiracies ofIndian governments and their discrimination towards sikh community.
A vigil and prayer service dealing with the anti-Sikh pogroms of November 1984, events is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Sikh Gurdwara, 3636 Murilla Ave., in San Jose. To learn more about Ensaaf, click on www.ensaaf.org.
