Subscribe Feed (RSS)Amritsar, Mar 27 (PTI) : SGPC Chief Avtar Singh Makkar today condemned the Congress High Command for allocating party tickets to Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar and warned that the people of the state will give a befitting reply to the party in the coming Lok Sabha polls for doing so.
In a statement here today Makkar held both Tytler and Sajjan Kumar directly responsible for the mass killing of Sikhs during the anti Sikh riots in various parts of Delhi in 1984. He said that while allocating tickets to such people, the Congress had once again proved that it was anti-Sikhs. Sikhs during the Parliament elections would give a befitting reply to the Congress, he added.
Accusing the Congress of never thinking for the welfare of the Sikh community, Makkar held the party directly responsible for the operation Blue Star 1984 and ruining the Akal Takht (highest temporal seat of Sikhs) saying that the wounds inflicted by the Congress on the Sikh Psyche are still unhealed.
