A texas court has apparently ordered demolition of a $150,000 Gurdwara recently built after the approval from the city authorities. These include Planning & Zoning committees as well as the City Council at large.

But recently the Gurdwara structure became a source court battle between the Sikhs and their neighbors, Leslie and John Bollier, who purchased a lot in the same subdivision in 2007 claiming that the subdivision’s deed restrictions didn’t permit a religious temple.

A trial court sided with the Sikhs and allowed them to build a new temple, which at more than 3,800 square feet is the largest building in the subdivision. But a fortnight backthe 3rd Court overturned the trial court decision and ordered that the temple be removed.

Now the gurdwara authorities are left with no choice, but to move in higher courts to initialte one more legal battle to save austin gurdwara from tear down. The estimated cost for this is around $100k and the support of sangat is required.
