Vote Now! on Facebook to build Domestic Violence Shelters

End Domestic Violence Vote on Facebook to build Culturally Diverse Women’s Centers and Domestic Violence Shelters

The Issue : Violence does not discriminate. Every 9 seconds a woman – regardless of race, class, or academic achievement – is battered in the US. 1 in every 4 women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime and 1.3 million women experience it every year. Most cases go unreported due to fear – fear of being alone, fear of further violence, and/or fear for the children’s safety. The Jakara Movement hopes to be a part of the solution to domestic violence.

With government funding dwindling and violence against women on the rise, now more than ever is the time for action.

But when it comes to present day scenario 1984 anti sikh riots is a big blot which sikhs have not been able to give a befitting reply to.

One man (with Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji’s) stood against the wind.

February 12, 2009 by admin | 1 Comment | Filed in Announcements, News, NGO Watch

We are very pleased to announce the coming of 1st Gurmat based TV Channel: The Sikh Channel UK which will only air gurmat based programs 24×7. This is a unique initiative as many of us complain the screening of Patits singers, dance shows, fashion shows etc on the same channels where gurbani had just been broadcasted.

So current punjabi channel (in the name of Panjabi Sabhyachar) not only send a wrong message but also deviate youth by presenting wrong role models. The Sikh Channel will launch in the U.K via the Sky Satellite platform, Worldwide via Internet and will be available free to air as soon as the funds for one years broadcasting have been put in place.

All day programme include kirtan, katha and gurmat based shows only. Other dynamic programming would include, Sikh News, Gatka, Kabaddi, Whats happening at Your Gurdwara, UK Gurdwara Profiles, Sikh Stories, Sikh Personality Profiles, Sikh Quiz and Competitions etc etc.

So please support this channel via donations, technical skills so that the channel can work with ease.

SikhiWallpapers.com gets a separate Technology Tips Channel

February 2, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Announcements, Editorial

While discussing about 1984, with a Singh Sahib, they said: had someone given us the technical knowledge, skills etc. instead of atrocities then we Sikhs would have had attained far bigger achievements at global level. I could understand his agony and pain.

Later when dass got the sewa of Sikhiwallpapers many asked me about very basics of Technology, Software etc. kind of things. So I added a new name to the blog (Sikhi Wallpapers, Photos, Videos and Technology Tips). But that was not doing justice to the work carried out at this site.
